librtlsdr0 software package provides Software defined radio receiver for Realtek RTL2832U (development files), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install librtlsdr0
librtlsdr0 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the librtlsdr0 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep librtlsdr0 *
You will get with librtlsdr0 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
